Kerbal Space Program celebrates ‘Day of the Dead’

Kerbal Space Program developers Squad have released an animated trailer which urges players to remember lost Kerbalnauts this coming Day of the Dead / Dia de Muertos.

In the game, players design and build their own spacecraft out of a selection of parts and then blast them off in the hopes that they do not return to the ground in fiery carnage.

It is still in development, but the game is currently available on Steam through its Early Access program.

Celebrated between October 31st and November 2nd, the Day of the Dead / ‘Dia de Muertos’ celebrations take place across Mexico in remembrance of deceased friends and family.

New map for Combat Arms FPS

Online shooter Combat Arms has announced a brand new ‘Quantum Labs’ map featuring low gravity, complex corridor systems and large rooms perfect for jumpers to be released tomorrow, 24th July.

NEXON Europe, the company behind the game,  have also announced that the release of the new map will be accompanied by new missions where players can earn rewards for capturing the best screenshot and spending time playing in Quantum Labs.

Combat Arms project manager Kyle Lee said the new map will be “a fresh experience for our many faithful veterans and as a whole new reason for new players to get involved.”

He added, “Combat Arms is one of the most successful free-to-play FPS titles on the market, so we like to keep things fresh by constantly updating what is already an expansive experience, involving a huge number of gameplay modes and available equipment, with extra incentives, levels, and missions. I have no doubt that players, old and new, will be very happy, indeed.”

The new map will soon be joined by other new features over the coming months, including all-new VIP Escort, Arms Race and VIP Elimination game modes coming in August, September and October.

Project Nimbus – teaser trailer and steam greenlight

In-development mech action game Project Nimbus has released a teaser trailer showing off some of their backstory and some rather good-looking graphics alongside interesting gameplay.

While the voiceover script needs some improvement (“we still divided seek to kill each other”),  the overall game concept is very interesting, looks genuinely action packed and fun to play. In essence, players fly around in mechanised ‘battleframes’ firing hails of missiles and bullets at enemies.

Insurgency releases new ‘Security Forces’ trailer

Insurgency, a tactical team-based shooter developed by New World Interactive, released a brand new trailer on Friday showcasing the new fps using ingame footage.

The game itself is based on Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat a total conversion for Half-Life 2 which won ModDB’s ‘Player’s Choice Mod of the Year’ in 2007 and enjoyed further success with more than a million free downloads.

Players must focus on teamwork in game of up to 32 combatants in this intense shooter which does away with crosshairs and involves authentic weapon damage for a more realistic gameplay experience.

Insurgency is currently available on Steam for £9.99 as part of an ‘Early Access’ campaign which allows players to get involved in the development process and purchase the game at a reduced price.
